LafargeHoclim has launched a new cement brand, SupaSet, with a pledge to continue supporting government initiatives in infrastructure development and social corporate responsibility initiatives.

Speaking when officially launching the new product in Blantyre, the company’s Board Chairman Simon Msefula said Lafarge realises that the government has given priority to building roads, irrigation dams, power substations and housing projects.

Msosa said LafargeHoclim will continue to support such projects by providing highquality products.

“I have no doubt that SupaSet will develop into a leading brand in our market. It is for this reason that we are here to celebrate another beginning of a proposition that will add value to our stakeholders,” he said.

LafargeHolcim Chief Executive Officer Albert Sigei said among other applications, the new product is ideal for precast products such as hallow blocks, interlocking blocks and strong concrete works.

“This is another milestone for LafargeHolcim Malawi and we believe that this will give us a major competitive advantage in the market.

And Principal Secretary in the Ministry of lands and Urban Development Charles Msosa commended Lafarge for developing the product at a time when the country is targeting to attain high specification structures in the construction industry.

“This is a great move in the development of our country. This is an innovative product which will enable the company to serve the local market better,” he said.
