The popular reality show Big Brother Africa (BBA) which Malawi has participated in since its inception in 2003 will not take place again this year.
M-Net said recently that the reality show, which the country is yet to win, will not be part of their upcoming programmes this year.
“M-Net would like to confirm that Big Brother Africa is not part of our upcoming programming schedule, ” reads the statement.
However, M-net indicated that they are currently busy with other regional Big Brother productions, with Big Brother Angola being the most current production which started on March 13 and would end on May 22, 2016.
With the reality show not happening last year, many BBA lovers thought the show would return to their screens this year.
“At the moment, the team is busy re-evaluating the strategic direction of Big Brother Africa. Be assured that when it returns, it will be bigger and better!” said M-Net in a statement.
M-Net thanked BBA fans far and wide for their continuous support over the past editions and promised that the show will go on, on DStv, with new and exciting productions in store.
The last BBA show dubbed Hotshots was held in 2014 and the Malawi representatives were Times Television presenter Masuzgo Msiska better known as Mr 265 and Sipherile Chitambo alias Sipe.
