Over 100 athletes showcased their skills in Malawi Olympic Committee (Moc) Summer Games held at OlympAfrica Centre in Lilongwe from Friday to Monday.
The athletes took part in netball, football, wrestling, athletics, lawn tennis and judo.
Best athletes received medals and school learning materials.
Speaking during prize presentation, Lilongwe Urban Sports Officer, Grace Thera- Chirambo, hailed the athletes for their displays during the games.
“I was impressed with the talent displayed in all sports disciplines. We need to organise such kind of Games to keep the athletes active all the time,” Thera-Chirambo said.
“The Games also help to keep the youth busy so that they do not indulge in risky behaviour.”
Moc Treasurer, Henry Sakala, said the games were important on the domestic sports calendar.
“Since the Summer Games were introduced last year, we have seen many athletes taking part. We will continue organising such games to prepare our athletes for local and international games,” he said.
