22 picked in Ka Jive Dance Contest Blantyre auditions

After successfully picking 12 contestants in Lilongwe two weeks ago, the Ka Jive Dance competition finally came down to Blantyre on Saturday and Sunday during which 22 contestants were selected.

Unlike in Lilongwe where the auditions took place in a single day, in Blantyre the competition took two days to be completed because more contestants registered.

Held at Alpacinos, the auditions attracted 48 contestants who registered.

The first day attracted a good audience where 10 contestants were selected. The second day received a not-so-impressive audience with 12 contestants being selected.

The judges of Panther, Jean Cha lungama and Talumba Chirwa had a torrid time of selecting the best but at the end of the two days they selected 22.

The contestants who made it through include season one runners up Floor Steppers. The others are Fearless Crew, High Technical Dancers Crew, Jay Squad , Magic Step Crew, Dance Anomix, Super heroes Dancing Crew, Rockstar Dancing Crew, Danger Crew, Hottest Dancers, Meriment Age Production, Twist Dance Crew, Limbanazo Crew, Isu B, Flex Dancers, JBW, Dope Crew, Exclusive Kinjazee , Ikuba , The Beatles, Bill and The one Two Dancing Crew.

The Ka Jive Dance competition is run by Times Group through Time s Television and will see the winner walking away with K1.5 million.

Airtel Malawi are the co-sponsors of the competition this year.

Times com Business Manager Heggar Kalowekamo said they are satisfied with the crop picked in Blantyre and that the auditions went on very well.

“We have picked the best and the judges did a very good job and now next up are the performances of the contestants and the evictions. We are working on that now and the public will be informed when we are starting,” said Kalowekamo.

Metics Dance Crew were the winners in Ka Jive Dance competition season one and pocketed K1 million.

Former Big Brother Africa (BBA) representative and Times TV Presenter Mr 265 and Sharon Chirwa were the masters of ceremonies of the auditions in Blantyre.
