3 bodies exhumed in Mchesi saga

By Joseph Luhanga:
Police in Lilongwe have exhumed bodies of three people whose death in Mchesi Township has sparked speculation.
Lilongwe Police Officer-in-Charge, Dennis Katoya, dismissed rumours that a foreigner was behind the murders of the people believed to be motorcycle taxi operators in Mchesi.
“This particular person that is involved in these murders is a Malawian. Not a Burundian or Nigerian,” he said.
Katoya said the police have arrested Blessings Lifa, who was a watchman at the premises where the bodies were buried.
Katoya said Lifa is the main suspect in the murders.
There are still running battles between members of the community and police in the area. Reports indicate that an angry mob has since demolished a building where the watchman was working.
