Premier Bet Wizards FC Captain, Denis Chembezi, and forwards Misheck Botoman and Patrick Phiri have been linked with transfers to TNM Super League champions, Be Forward Wanderers.
Wizards, who lost 3-0 to Moyale Barracks on Sunday, failed to survive the chop after finishing the season on position 14 with just 27 points from 30 matches.
The club’s owner, Peter Mponda, on Tuesday said several clubs had shown interest in signing Chembezi, Botoman and Phiri.
Power Dynamos of Zambia are also in the race to sign Phiri.
Chembezi, who earned a national team call-up this year under Coach Ronny van Geneudgen has been a regular for the Flames’ defence.
Botoman and striker Phiri were outstanding for Wizards by scoring vital goals for the team.
But Mponda, while declining to disclose the destination of his three players, insisted that the trio would sign for a big club.
“It is good for them; they have reached that level of playing for big teams. They played well and helped us a lot. I have been approached by several clubs but these players would want to be part of Caf Champions League football,” Mponda said.
After clinching the league title on Saturday, Wanderers Coach, Yasin Osman, hinted that he might beef up the squad ahead of their Caf Champions League preliminary round games against AS Vita of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
“We indicated that we will sign new players but I can’t say much as we need to meet as a technical team and evaluate the performance of each player this season. The team is just good and players deserve respect for sure,” Osman said.
The Nomads also bought Ernest Tambe and Rafiq Namwera from Wizards two seasons ago.
