Three well-known dancing groups Metics, Twist and Floor Steppers will shrug it off during the Coca- Cola Kuphaka Life to be held tomorrow at Blantyre Sports Club.
The Coca-Cola Kuphaka Life, which was introduced in February last year, has been expanded to reach out to more consumers.
One of the members of the organising team, Talumba Chirwa, said yesterday that people are in for a treat during the event.
“There is more during the event. And we are glad to inform people that three biggest dance crews in Blantyre will battle it out,” Chirwa said.
Twist, Metics and Floor Steppers dancing groups are the products of the Ka Jive Dance Competition run by Times Group through Times Television and did well in the competition.
“We picked them for popularity and status and the fact that they are from Blantyre. We thought these particular three would bring great entertainment as well as professionalism and two of them Twist and Metics are Ka Jive winners while Steppers are the runners up,” he said.
Chirwa said the three groups come from different corners in Blantyre and that they will also be representing the city as a whole in keeping with their new theme.
“Their costumes in general also show that they have an eye for appearance and this also led us to select them,” he said.
The organisers were also expected to unveil a ‘fan picked artist’ yesterday.
Tay Grin, Bucci and Home African are some of the artists billed to perform tomorrow.
Titha Mbilizi, who is Senior Brands Manager (Non-Alcoholic Beverages), said they hope to gain more participation and build on the new Coca –Cola campaign Taste the Feeling incorporated in this year’s Kuphaka Life.
