3 win in Kuipatsa Moto monthly draw

Football Association of Malawi (Fam)’s Kuipatsa Moto Flames promotion has given out three deep freezers to lucky winners during its first monthly draw at Mpira Village in Blantyre.

The three winners are Zomba taxi driver Peter Malizani, Zambezi Evangelical Church pastor Frank Mikondo of Chilomoni, Blantyre, and Deus Chikaonda who works as assistant Station Manager for Malawi Revenue Authority in Dwangwa, Nkhotakota District.

The competition’s top prize is a Toyota Sienta which will be given out after the final draw later this month.

Fam General Secretary Alfred Gunda said, with over 2,000 entries received so far, they remain confident of meeting their K60 million target.

“We are very happy that things are working out as planned. Those who doubted us have finally seen what we are capable of doing. We now expect to see more entries after giving out the three deep freezers.

“It is pleasing to note that both the first and second draws have seen people from different districts across the country winning prizes. We have had winners from Zomba, Mchinji, Dedza, Lilongwe and Blantyre just to mention a few. We believe people will continue patronising the promotion so that we achieve our objectives,” Gunda said.

Malizani said he would continue sending more entries so that he wins the top prize.

“I have never won in any promotion before and I am excited that I will have a deep freezer of my own. I intend to use it for a food and drinks business. I now have every reason to continue sending more entries into this competition,” He said.

Chikaonda said: “I had entered the competition thrice. All I wanted was just to support the Flames’ Afcon [Africa Cup of Nations] agenda. I didn’t have any particular intention to win anything. I now feel encouraged to call upon every Malawian to support this fundraising initiative.”

Winners of weekly draws are walking away with Flames jerseys. To enter the promotion, one needs to dial *3089#.

The promotion is one of the initiatives aimed at raising financial resources for the Malawi National Football Team’s participation at the Afcon finals in Cameroon next month.
