Super League sponsor, Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM), has disclosed that out of over 100,000 soccer fans who patronised two promotions based on the league’s match predictions, 14,500 got them right.

The company has been running Predict and Win and Sapota Kawawa promotions from April this year to create a platform for engaging fans during the TNM Super League season.

Relations and Sponsorship Manager, Limbani Nsapato, said the promotions were a success.

“The two promotions have generated a lot of excitement among supporters who eagerly await the announcement of the next game that is up for prediction. We are very encouraged by the participation levels as evidenced by the number of predictions that we got in the first round,” Nsapato explained.

He said TNM had given out cash prizes to more than 21 winners amounting to more than K1.25 million.

Nsapato said 17 winners got K50,000 in weekly prizes in four months whereas K100,000 went to four monthly winners.

He further stated that 170 subscribers won airtime worth K2,000.

“The results we have show a prediction accuracy rate of 14.5 percent.

This encourages us to return stronger from the first round break early September when the second round rolls into motion,” Nsapato said.

Supporters predict results of matches through SMSs while Sapota Kawawa is restricted to the social media as fans post latest pictures captured at match venues.

Social media handles for the promotion include twitter, instagram and facebook.

Airtime worth K2,500 has been given out to 51 winners whose image attracted the most likes, most shared and most commented each week
