5 evicted from Ka Jive

Five groups have been evicted from Ka Jive Dance competition Season Four, at the elimination show held at Times Entertainment Studios in Blantyre on Saturday.
The five evicted groups performed in the first elimination show and only got evicted during the second elimination show.
Before 10 groups shortlisted to perform in the second elimination show stormed the stage, organisers’ first task was to evict five groups, namely Tridax Chibaya, Roll Up Dance Crew, Momentum Dance Crew and Anomix from Blantyre and Brightos from Dowa.
As the five outfits suffered heart-break, it was a happy day for five other groups—namely The Gap Connection, Born Major and Soweto Babies from Blantyre, Invisible Crew from Thyolo and Khybon Dance Crew from Lilongwe— who have booked their ticket to the next round.
Coming to the second elimination show, 10 groups–99 Ma Feel, Adobe Dance Crew, Luchenza Amazing Dancing Crew, Fearless Dancers, Jaiva Dance Crew, Walk the Moon Dance Crew, Robotronics, Messenger Dance Crew, Technical Dance Crew and EMX Crew— performed.
Just like their counterparts in the first elimination show, the groups were given two challenges–performing a freestyle and traditional dance of malipenga.
Apart from impressing in their freestyle challenge, the groups failed to stand out in the malipenga dance challenge, which also proved that the current generation is not familiar with some traditional dances.
Five groups are expected to be evicted during the third elimination show this coming Saturday.
The second elimination show was spiced up by a performance from Phyzix, a well-known performer who bagged seven nominations in the inaugural Malawi Hip Hop Awards to be held next month.
Phyzix performed twice during the show and closed the curtain.
“I am excited to perform here. I have enjoyed every moment and it was good to connect with the fans,” he said.
Times Group Commercial Manager, Lusayo Msukwa, said they were making positive steps ahead of the grand finale to take place on December 19 2020.
“Things are getting more interesting and, as we indicated when we selected 30 groups during auditions, people will see twists and turns. Five groups have been evicted and five will also be evicted this coming Saturday. In total, 15 groups will be evicted and we will remain with 15,” Msukwa said.
The winner in Ka Jive Season Four is expected to walk away with K1 million, with the first and second runners-up receiving K400,000 and K150,000, respectively.
