Popular dance competition Ka Jive Season Five, driven by Times Group through Times Television, begins with auditions in the Southern Region this Saturday.
The auditions come following registration, which has attracted close to 50 groups.
The auditions will take place at Times Group’s Entertainment Studios in Blantyre.
The competition, with its tagline Tivine Zimenezi, has given a platform to the youth to show dance skills and also unearthed talent.
Times Group Advertising Manager [Radio and Television] Alfred Kanjere said Tuesday that they have made strides since they announced that Season Five was back.
“The response has been overwhelming and people are in for a treat in Season Five. We are also excited that more partners have shown interest in being part of the dance competition.
“Business Computer Services is part and parcel of the competition and we are talking to more partners so that we have an exciting competition. Let me take this opportunity to call upon stakeholders out there to come forward and be part of this competition,” Kanjere said.
He said stakeholders who are interested in the youth and have services targeting young people, should come out and be part of Ka Jive.
“Through Ka Jive, we are trying to expose dance talent and also give the youth something to do,” Kanjere said.
He maintained that they have had consultations with stakeholders who have followed the competition and that they have got approval.
Kanjere said, over the four seasons they have hosted the dance competition, it has proved vital especially in displaying talent from the youth.
Several dance groups that are being utilised by stakeholders in their services have passed through Ka Jive Dance competition.
Soweto Boys from Blantyre won Ka Jive Season Four and pocketed K1 million. The first and second runners-up were Luchenza and Abantu crews respectively.
