Blue Eagles have released six players, including fading stars Luka Milanzi and Tizgobere Kumwenda, ahead of the 2018 TNM Super League season.
Eagles General Secretary, Ulemu Kalua, yesterday said other players who have been released are goalkeeper Carlington Misomali, defender Gio Banda, midfielders Blessings Phiri and Davie Ng’ambi.
“For the players that have been released, we wish them all the best.
“Only Misomali, Phiri and Banda have running contracts with us and they will be loaned out to teams of their choice,” he said.
Kalua said Eagles will replace the six players with raw talent from rural areas.
“Currently, our Head Coach, Derklerk Msakakuona, is on the ground trying new players. We are not targeting big names but we want to search for hidden talent so that we can give them a chance to make a name on the domestic scene,” he said.
Eagles failed to win any silverware in the just ended season despite bringing in new faces such as Milanzi and Ng’ambi.
The cops fired coach Audlow Makonyola and recalled Msakakuona.
