Actress and filmmaker Flora Suya, who is currently in the United States of America (USA) has landed herself a role to star in a Shakespeare play.
The actress got the nod after auditioning.
One of the organisers, Cathryn Muzaffa in an email indicated that they have offered Suya a role this summer.
“Thank you for coming to audition with Vallejo Shakespeare in the Park. We would like to offer you a role this summer,” Muzaffa said.
Suya said she was happy to have landed a role to star in Shakespeare’s play adding that it shows that they were satisfied with her theatre skills.
“I am happy and looking forward to star in this play,” she said.
Asked when she was likely to come back home, Suya said she was still there for sometime as she is working on some film projects.
Last month, Suya, who has starred in several movies, was invited to a class by Professor Sam Mchombo where she was teaching about African culture and language as well as media and language where one of her episodes was used.
The students had time to ask Suya questions as a filmmaker and actress.
Suya last year premiered her own film My Mother’s Story which earned her an award at the Silicon Valley African Film Festival in USA.
