Admarc clerk steals K2million
Police in Thyolo on Valentine’s Day arrested an Agriculture Development and Marketing Corporation (Admarc) clerk for allegedly stealing over K2 million.
According to police, Benson Maluwa, a clerk at Mpenda depot, committed the offence on Sunday night.
Thyolo Police spokesperson, Edith Kachotsa, confirmed the development saying the suspect was seen by the security guard entering the depot’s office at about 10 pm.
According to the Police, Maluwa, 40, reported that the chest containing K2,194,500 was missing. After visiting the scene, the police found no trace of breaking from the main door and the windows and they arrested him.
According to the publicist, police later recovered 29 subsidy coupons after a thorough investigation in the suspect’s kitchen.
Maluwa comes from Kantunda Village in the area of Traditional Authority Mthiramanja in Mulanje District
