Admarc top brass suspended

The government has suspended Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (Admarc)’s top management of acting Chief Executive Officer Felix Jumbe, Director of Finance Harold Mwala and Director of Operations Gannet Gwembere.
This is contained in a memo which Admarc Board Chairperson Alexander Kusamba Dzonzi has signed.
“Following the development, the board has appointed Dhlelisle Matondo Phiri to act in the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Gerald Ganizani in the position of Director of Finance and Michael James Mnenula in the position of Director of Operations.
“May I therefore urge you all to join me in congratulating them and further urge you all to offer them your uniting support,” the memo reads.
Jumbe confirmed being suspended from his position but referred The Daily Times to the board for further details.
“It is true that I have been suspended. You can ask the board why they have suspended us,” Jumbe said.
Kusamba Dzonzi could not be reached for a comment on the matter but he, on Tuesday, confirmed attending a board meeting at Admarc headquarters in Limbe, where the fate of the three was high on the agenda.
Jumbe replaced Margaret Roka Mauwa, who served as the grain trader’s CEO when Jumbe was board chairperson.
The suspension comes after President Lazarus Chakwera challenged all boards of parastatals to look into recruitment of people in top positions to see if they were recruited in line with the law.
