Advantage Capital hikes CR darts sponsorship

READY TO RUMBLE—Mzengo sizes up during the launch

Advantage Capital and Consulting Limited (ACCL) has increased Central Region Darts League (CRDL) sponsorship to K2 million from K1.5 million.

This was disclosed during the unveiling ceremony held at Civo Club House over the weekend.

Advantage Capital Chief Operations Officer Francis Mzengo said the company was committed to taking the sport to another level.

“Since we started sponsoring the league, we have seen great improvement and this shows that the money we invested in the league is bearing fruits. Our aim is to motivate teams and players to step up the game,” Mzengo said.

Last season, the league was sponsored through Ultimate Security Services Limited (USSL) but is this year being sponsored by its sister company ACCL.

Darts Association of Malawi (Dam) President Inglis Nyamilandu hailed the company for increasing the sponsorship package.

“The sponsorship will motivate the players. We have more passionate players in Malawi but the biggest challenge is sponsorship. With this sponsorship, we believe the game is moving in the right direction,” he added.

CRDL Chairperson Isaac Nyirongo also hailed the company for being a true partner in the development of the sport.

The 2020 darts season was suspended due to the Covid pandemic.

However, Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) gave consent to all sporting disciplines to resume activities.

The 2021 darts season has already commenced in the Central Region, with a total of 11 teams taking part in the league.
