Advent Hope launches third album
Seventh-Day group Advent Hope on Sunday launched their third album Tidzagonjetsa at Comesa Hall in Blantyre.
The launch pulled an impressive audience that saw Adventist Hope as the headliners putting up an impressive performance.
The group’s music teacher Major Nyirenda said they were excited in that they have finally managed to launch their third album.
“It’s been a long journey and we have waited for this day but thank God it has now come to pass. This is historical for the group and will remain among my best days because I have seen the glory of the Lord,” Nyirenda said.
He added: “Everything was great and the turnout was massive. And on top of that, people supported us by buying the CDs which were on sale. The performances were great and we are thankful to all the supporting acts.”
Nyirenda also said that the audience was not only impressive but they participated throughout the launch starting from buying the CDs to following the performances.
“The audience was attentive. We were not only entertaining them but we wanted them to listen to the messages. The main message in our album is all about salvation hence the title Tidzagonjetsa but we can only defeat the devil if we stick to Jesus Christ and walk with Him,” Nyirenda said.
It was a platform where the audience enjoyed accapella that showed the beauty of the vocals with instruments playing second fiddle.
Tidzagonjetsa was recorded at PC Studios in Blantyre by renowned bassist and producer Chambota Chirwa, who was present during the launch.
“All our albums have been recorded by Chambota Chirwa and we are thankful to him,” Nyirenda said.
The 13-track album has both Chichewa and English songs and they include ‘Ndimakhulupira Yesu’, ‘Khola La Ng’ombe’ and ‘Jesus is Coming Soon’.
Apart from dishing out songs from the new album, the group also had time to perform songs from their previous albums including ‘Tizapulumuka Bwanji’.
Advent Hope’s previous albums are Lalikira Mawu and Maranatha.
Nyirenda said as a group they will continue to ‘minister the word’ of God through music.
“Our music is not only for Seventh-Day faithful, it’s for everyone and we believe that God will continue to guide us,” he said.
Other artists who performed at the launch include youthful Kamwana Family and Blessed Hope.
