Afcon trophy parade inspiring— Flames coach

Malawi National Football Team Coach Meck Mwase said Tuesday’s parade of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) trophy was a motivation to his charges to aim high at the finals slated for next year in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
“This is perhaps the first time this is happening. I had a chance to see the trophy during the draw in Cameroon and, now, I am seeing it for the second time. I thank Total Energies for bringing the trophy here [Malawi]. It is a big motivation for my squad that we should dream big and aim to cause upsets,” said Mwase, who was part of the parade.
Total Energies has organised the parade in 18 countries where the company is represented and national teams have qualified for the finals slated for Cameroon in January.
Total Malawi Operations Manager George Nyondo was part of the parade.
The trophy was paraded across Blantyre City Tuesday.
This is Malawi’s third appearance at the Afcon finals, having been placed in Group B with Senegal, Zimbabwe and Guinea.
