Malawi National Football Team forward Gabadinho Mhango’s manager Mike Makaab has expressed optimism that his client will rediscover his scoring boots at South African giants Orlando Pirates.
Mhango returned to full training after missing the better part of DStv Premiership first round due to injury and off-field issues.
Makaab said Mhango was probably the best striker in South Africa with great potential to play in Europe.
“He is back in training and, hopefully, will compete for a place in the team. He is still probably the best striker in South Africa. At one stage there was a possibility of him playing in Europe. I am sure one day he will realise his dream,” he said.
The former Nyasa Big Bullets star made history after becoming the first Malawian footballer to win the Premier Soccer League Golden Boot award when he scored 16 goals in the 2019/20 season.
He shared the award with Namibian Peter Shalulile, who is now playing for Mamelodi Sundowns.
