Agnes Mtimaukanena has no excuses
Former World Boxing Forum middleweight champion, Agnes Mtimaukanena-Mwando, is beaming with confidence ahead of the World Boxing Council (WBC)- Silver medal title fight against Zambian, Loleta Muzeya.
The two will face off in a 10-round welterweight contest in Harare, Zimbabwe on Friday.
Mtimaukanena, speaking in a telephone interview after arriving in Zimbabwe, said was determined to dent Muzeya’s perfect record.
Ironically, Muzeya announced
her arrival on the international scene when she beat Mtimaukanena on her debut at Government Complex in Lusaka in 2013.
Since then, the Zambian has registered nine other victories, including beating another Malawian, Anisha Basheer, on two occasions to remain unbeaten in 10 fights.
“I have received massive support from Cori, Beata and other well-wishers. I worked with Anisha to help me deal with hard punches and improve my endurance. I also worked with Ellen Simwaka and Zimbabwean, Diana Makumbe, to help me improve speed,” she said.
Mtimaukanena, 23, has seven wins, two defeats and a draw.
