Singer and guitarist Agorosso, who left the country last week for Hungary for performances including the big one during the Africa Day Festival on May 28, has written yet another chapter in his musical career receiving an award in Vienna, Austria.

Agorosso received the award last Saturday known as African Heroes Baobab Award alongside other African artists.

“I am happy to receive this award. This award is given to artists who have achieved something big outstanding for Africa and so I have received it because of the Best Sound Track Award I won during the Africa Movie Academy Award ( AMAA) for my role in Shemu Joyah’s movie The Last Fishing Boat,” said musician.

He said he is the first musician from Malawi to receive this award.

“This award is not for me alone, it’s for Malawi. I love my country and this is why when I was coming down here I said I came to sell Malawi to the world and with this award I think I have done it. Again wherever I have performed I have impressed,” said Agorosso.

The musician who is also expected to perform at this year’s Lake of Stars Festival held close to four performances in Hungary including in a ship which he said is one of the popular places in the country and that several other international artists have performed there.

Agorosso’s manager Luc Deschamps hailed Agorosso for the award.

“He is a talented musician and his music is good. I am looking at connecting him to Europe and I want him to be performing in international festivals. This is why before he left, he also worked on new songs,” said Deshamps.

According to him, Agorosso is expected back home tomorrow
