Airtel Malawi has gone into a partnership with Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) to broadcast live Premier League (PL) games on the station.

Airtel Malawi Managing Director Charles Kamoto said, as official sponsors of the broadcasts, they were determined to bring the best entertainment to their subscribers.

“We witnessed how excited Malawians were with the recent broadcast of the Uefa Euro games on MBC TV and we thought to take that along into the EPL. This is beyond Airtel customers; we are proud that, during this period, we will provide great entertainment to Malawians,” Kamoto said this when the two parties unveiled their partnership on Friday at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

MBC Director General George Kasakula said they have acquired rights to broadcast at least 33 live EPL games.

“This is good news to all Malawians that we are, once again, bringing them more good news of improving our content. Malawians love football so much. If they are not talking about politics or other issues affecting their lives, they talk about football. Therefore, we are bringing them the best football league in the world,” he said.—Mana
