As the countdown to the regional finals for the coveted Airtel Money national netball trophy continues, sponsors have asked budding teams to aim for upsets in the competition.

About 72 teams will battle it out for four slots of the national finals, where they will join seeded eight sides, including holders, Tigresses.

Airtel Money Marketing Manager, Tione Kafumbu, said they were delighted with the pattern that the competition had taken at the district level.

In the Central Region, the games will be staged at Kamundi Lodge in Lilongwe with Katoto Secondary School hosting matches for the Northern Region.

In the Eastern Region, the games might take place at Chancellor College.

Currently, Tigresses, Kukoma Diamonds, Thunder Queens, Prison Sisters, Lameck Queens, Mimosa, Blue Eagles Sisters, Civonets and Mafco Sisters were seeded to join the competition at the national level.

This is the third season of the Airtel Money national netball trophy, and Tigresses have won it back-to-back.
