After weeks of anxiety, planning and intensive training, 12 teams will line up for the final edition of Airtel Money national netball trophy finals at Don Bosco in Lilongwe.
The three-day finals throw-off today with defending champions, Tigresses, as favourites following their back-to-back wins of the coveted trophy.
With a glittering trophy and a whopping K8 million prize money dangled for the champions, Don Bosco is expected to be at a standstill.
Airtel Money Marketing Manager, Tione Kafumbu, has since asked the participating teams to observe fair-play.
“We would like to advise the teams participating in the finals to show sportsmanship. This is a great opportunity for all the teams. They need to put a good performance, but not at the expense of the rules of the game,” he said.
Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) General Secretary, Carol Bapu, was also optimistic that netball enthusiasts would witness a thrilling finale.
“Everything is set for the competition and we are looking forward to an exciting finale,” she said, adding that Nam expects good officiation.
