All set for Sunbird fest
After experiencing the Lake of Stars Festival last month and Blantyre Arts Festival early this month, it’s now time for Malawians to enjoy another festival – Sunbird Sand Music Festival.
The festival starts Friday through to Sunday at Sunbird Livingstonia with Jamaican reggae musician Busy Signal as the main headliner.
Sand Music Director Lucius Banda popularly known as Soldier said Thursday that all was set for the festival and called upon people not to miss it.
“We are ready, all is set, the artists are ready, Busy Signal is ready and in town so people should buy tickets and make their way to Salima,” he said.
Lucius said Sunbird Sand Music Festival is for Malawians and that they would want to give them the best.
“We have three stages which will all be active 24/7 and it is time for Malawians to party from Friday (today) until Sunday. We have the main stage where we will have performances from among others Black Missionaries and Busy Signal,” he said.
Lucius also said that security will be tight during the three-day festival and that they want people to have a memorable moment.
Some of the artists set to perform at the festival are Alleluya Band, veteran Paul Banda, Edgar ndi Davis Band, Lulu, Sonye, Third Eye and Skeffa Chimoto.
There will also be traditional dances and performances from artists Lawi and Joseph Nkasa.
Busy Signal will perform tomorrow with Black Missionaries warming up the stage for him.
