Alleluya band impressed with Malawians gesture in Italy
By Isaac Salima:
Alleluya Band’s senior member Coss Chiwalo has said he is impressed with kind gesture Malawians based in Italy have shown to them.
The Balaka-based group left on June 1 for Italy where they are holding shows.
Chiwalo said they were pleased that, for the first time since they started making the trips to Italy, Malawians were patronising their shows in large numbers.
“We have been to Italy for some years but, this year, it is a different case as Malawians based here are coming in large numbers to patronise our shows.
“Last Saturday, we were also treated to dinner where our fellow Malawians prepared local dishes. We really felt at home as this has never happened before,” Chiwalo said.

He said they had, so far, held 12 shows and were expected to have 46 shows in total.
The group’s delegation of 12 people is based in Bergamo City.
Malawi’s oldest gospel group goes to Italy every year with the aim of raising funds for different projects at Andiamo campus in Balaka District.
