Alliance Capital Stars Assistant Coach, Garvey Nyondo, has attributed team-work to their success during the Southern Region Airtel Money championship, which they retained for a third successive time over the weekend.

“I am very happy to defend this trophy. We now look forward to the national finals,” Nyondo told Times TV.

Alliance Capital beat Blantyre All-Stars 39-13 at Blantyre Youth Centre on Sunday to claim K1,250,000 prize money and with it, a place at the national finals.

Blantyre All-Stars, comprising veterans Peace Chawinga-Kalua, Ruth Kaipa and Annie Sanga-Kapatuka, missed the services of Mary Waya.

The netball legend withdrew due to conflict of interest as she also doubles as Alliance Coach.

Alliance, inspired by goal-shooter, Tendai Masamba, winger-attacker Phallace Mkama and centre, Agness George, tormented All-Stars throughout the match.

The champions led the first quarter 10-3, second quarter 17-7 and third quarter 24-9 in a one-sided game.
