Malawi’s female boxer of the moment, Anisha Bashir, is beaming with confidence ahead of Saturday’s World Boxing Council Silver belt fight against Chantelle Cameron at Brentwood Centre in the United Kingdom.

Bashir’s camp is expected to leave the country today ahead of the 10-round bout.

“I am in good spirits. I have prepared thoroughly for this fight. My trainer has devised different game plans for specific situations. I have mastered the right approach to this bout and I am confident of victory,” she said.

Bashir said she was unfazed by Cameron’s perfect record of eight wins including five knockouts.

“She had not yet met her match and I can assure you that she is definitely in trouble,” she said.

Bashir’s trainer, Cylde Musonda, said his fighter was in great shape ahead of the fight.

“We are looking forward to this fight. We are done with our preparations and we will go there with a mission to get the belt,” Musonda said.

Bashir, 23, has eight knockout wins with five defeats.

Initially, the fight was set for June 28 at York Hall in London but it was shifted because of financial constraints in the Malawian’s camp.

Bashir is a holder of African Boxing Union and Commonwealth super lightweight titles.

The No Pain No Gain Boxing Promotions boxer was treated to a sendoff party in Lilongwe on Friday.
