Kateta, said she decided to bring Paul to his launch to give the audience a variety.

“Paul is an artist, who many artists have looked up to and as a gospel artist, I have been inspired by his songs and talent. This is why I decided to bring him to Blantyre to be part of my launch,” she said.

Paul confirmed of his performance at Kateta’s launch through his Facebook page.

He said recently that his door is always open to work with up and coming artists for the growth of the creative industry.

“It’s good to support upcoming artists for them to grow. Again as old-timers, there are also things we can learn from them,” said Paul, who is also expected to perform at this year’s Sand Music Festival.

Kateta will be launching a CD and DVD of the album Bwerani Kwa Yesu which she recorded at M Studio in Blantyre.

The singer, who started singing when she was seven in nursery choir, said she was in gospel music not to make up the numbers.

“My mission is to minister the word of God through music. I want, through my songs, to bring people closer to God. I actually worked on the songs twice just to make sure that everything was good. I am happy that some of the songs are currently enjoying airplay,” she said.

Her 12-track album has songs such as Mwangondikondera, Ambuye Mulandire Ulemu, Chiyambi Cha Nzeru and Malire.

She said she has not run away from the traditional touch hence fusing different traditional dances in her songs.

Apart from Paul, the launch will also be spiced up by several other acts including Favoured Martha, Ethel Kamwendo Banda, The Great Angels Choir and Ndirande Anglican Voices.

“We have a long line up because we want people to enjoy since we are starting at night all the way to the early hours of the following day. I know some quarters have complained that the list is big and will not give me enough chance for my performance but we have worked all that out,” Kateta said.
