Musician Annemarie Quinn, who is from the United Kingdom, on Friday warmed up the release of her Blue Sky Thinking album with a virtual show.
The artist, who studied music and is a co-founder of Music against Malaria, a non-governmental organisation that uses music to fight malaria, performed with players such as percussionist Anthony Supriano and drummer Omex Chimpeni during the show.
People had a chance of watching the show through Facebook.
However, the show experienced an internet challenge at some point before its return.
During the outing, Annemarie also introduced visual artist Ellis Singano, who designed the cover of Blue Sky Thinking using his batik style.
“I am thankful to Annemarie for trusting in me to use my batik as an artwork for the album. I have been doing batik for years now and I learned this from my father, who was also good at batik,” Singano, who has exhibited his works in both local and international platforms, said.
Annemarie offered a number of songs during the show.
“I hope you enjoy the songs in the album and thank you so much for being part of this show,” Annemarie said.
The album has seen Annemarie featuring over 40 artists and they include Faith Mussa, Agorosso, Waliko Makhala, Goma Nyondo, Lusubilo Band, Patrick Chimbewa and Jacaranda School for Orphans.
The 14-track album features songs such as ‘Nkhani Yathu’ and ‘Osadandaula’.
