Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has disclosed it will recruit a consultant to review the 2019-22 strategic framework and develop a strategic plan for the period 2022 to 2025.
The development comes just few days after the association also announced that it will hire a technical review consultant following resolutions which the executive committee made in January this year.
According to Fam, the main objective of the exercise is to review the strategic framework for the association and develop a successor strategic plan with stakeholders.
“In order to align with the new Fifa Strategic direction (Making Football Truly Global 2020-2023), Malawi vision 2063 and Fam’s strategic leadership aspirations (raising the Bar 2020-2023), Fam would like to recruit a consultant,” reads part of the communication from the association.
Since 2016, the association has been operating under Fifa Forward 1.0 and 2.0 strategic frameworks.
Football consultant Kevin Moyo has commended Fam for the move.
“The coming of a consultant to develop a strategic plan for the FA is significant since it will assist in the growth and direction of our game,” Moyo said.
Meanwhile, the Fam Executive Committee is expected to meet today to discuss issues such as that of contracts for Flames coach Meck Mwase.
The meeting will take place in Salima District.
The committee will also focus on preparations for Africa Cup of Nations finals, World Cup qualifiers and Cosafa Cup.
