By Mabvuto Kambuwe:

Flames’ on-and-off striker Atusaye Nyondo is trying his luck at Persian Pro-Gulf League side Shakr Khodrou FC in Iran.

South Africa Premier Soccer League side Black Leopards assessed the former Silver Strikers player for two weeks recently but failed to clinch a deal.

South African media reported on Monday that Nyondo is in Iran for trials.

“I stayed with them for two weeks and they did not say anything to me, so I left to go home because I lost my grandmother, then the team from Iran invited me to train with them. They have been following me for some time now. They have been watching some of my games,” www. kickoff.com reports.

In recent years, Nyondo’s career has been hampered by injuries.

He joined Carara Kicks and finished as the top scorer with 14 goals before joining SuperSport United where he scored seven goals.

He also played for University of Pretoria FC, where he scored 14 goals in two seasons.

He parted ways with National First Division side Tshakuma Tsha Madzivandhila due to contractual disagreements a few months ago.
