Atusaye Nyondo joins Joseph Kamwendo in South Africa
By Williams Gondwa:
The gods have finally smiled on former Malawi national football team striker Atusaye Nyondo after he finally joined compatriot Joseph Kamwendo at South Africa National First Division side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM).
Nyondo had been clubless after being offloaded by the Rainbow Nation’s Premier Soccer League side Bloemfontein Celtic, where he was deemed surplus to requirements.
The former Silver Strikers goalpoacher has signed a three-year contract at TTM, ending his search for a club after spending almost a year on the sidelines.
Speaking in a telephone interview from South Africa, Nyondo said he was excited to join Kamwendo at TTM.
“I am very happy to sign for this club. It was not easy to find a club after parting ways with Bloemfontein Celtic last year. I will work hard to help my new club fulfill its mission of earning promotion to the elite league,” Nyondo said.

He expressed hope that the move would help him return to the national team setup.
“This is a great move for me. As you are aware, I have been sidelined from national team duties because I was not attached to any club but, this time, I am sure I will be considered. I am ready to help the Flames in this year’s assignments,’’ he said.
He said playing with Kamwendo would help him to settle down quickly and help the club to get results.
Nyondo has also played for other clubs in South Africa, notably SuperSport United.
