Atusaye Nyondo rescues Pretoria FC
Atusaye Nyondo scored a late equaliser for hosts, University of Pretoria when they drew 1-1 against Mpumalanga Black Aces during a South Africa Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL) match on Saturday.
SuperSport website reports that Zambian, Collins Mbesuma, put Aces ahead in the 17th minute after picking a through ball before placing his shot past Pretoria custodian,Trystan Coetsee.
The website adds that Aces spent the last period of the game playing on the counter attack while Pretoria pushed for their equaliser.
The efforts got rewarded deep into injury time when Nyondo struck with a classy header. It was his second goal in two consecutive games after also scoring during a Nedbank Cup match last week.
Nyondo, who is not part of Malawi national football team squad call-up, now has three goals in all competitions, two of which are for the league.
Pretoria are 14th, whereas Aces are sixth on the PSL log table.
In another game involving Malawians, there was no place for Micium Mhone in Jomo Cosmos’ starting XI as they slumped to a 4-0 battering by Orlando Pirates.
The result moved Pirates up to sixth on the standings as Cosmos dropped to 15th.
On Friday, Frank Gabadinho Mhango came in place of Rodney Ramagalela on the 59th minute at his loan club, Golden Arrows, lost 2-1 to Maritzburg United.
Following the loss, Arrows remain eighth on the log table.
