Aubrey Masamba registered a third consecutive win over Boniface Stenala in a non-title fight held on New Year’s Eve at Robin’s Park in Blantyre.
Three judges scored 74-77, 72-79 and 72- 78 points in favour of Masamba who dominated the fight.
Stenala started the bout on a high to give his fans false hopes, before succumbing to the blows of Masamba.
After the bout, Masamba, who received a cash prize of K150,000, said he utilised Stenala’s weaknesses to overpower him.
“He was saying that his target was to knock me out in the third-round, but I made sure that I maintained my strength and studied his moves. I have proved to him that he cannot stop me,” Masamba said.
Stenala said inexperience affected him during the bout, which Mulanje Last Boxing Promotions hosted with support from Chombe Tea.
“I do not fight regularly, and this affected me. I need more fights to maintain my shape. Apart from that factor, he was pushing too much,” said Stenala who pocketed K100, 000.
