Azam Tigers wasted an opportunity to go second on the TNM Super League ladder after huffing and puffing to a goalless draw against rookies, Mzuni, at Kalulu Stadium in Nchalo on Saturday afternoon.

The result left Tigers still fourth on 29 points from 18 games, and winless in four second round games; a run which is worrying the Kau Kau technical advisor, Robin Alufandika.

Tigers are nine points behind leaders Big Bullets. Mzuni are second from bottom on 13 points from 17 games.

“As for our title chances, let us wait and see. We still have 10 games to go. I think we have lost our scoring formula and this is an area we need to work on. We have in the four games, scored once and conceded twice,” Alufandika admitted.

In the second round, Tigers have drawn 1-1 with Epac, lost 1-0 to Mafco and drawn 0-0 against Kamuzu Barracks. Bright Munthali is the only player who has scored for Tigers in this half of the season.
