Azam Tigers threaten Masters Security

After posting their first TNM Super League win of 2017—a comprehensive 4-0 annihilation of out of sorts Dwangwa United last Sunday, Azam Tigers should be aiming at building on that result today.

Tigers entertain tricky Masters Security FC at Kalulu Stadium in a first round game that should interest neutrals as both sides have coaches (Benjamin Kumwenda and Patrick Kulemeka) who are good theoretically.

Both teams also boast fine attacking talents such as Robin Ngalande, who has three goals, at par with his Tigers counterpart, Peter Kasonga.

Having lost regulars Yamikani Chester and Bright Munthali, Tigers have understandably not made a flying start to the campaign.

But a win, a draw and loss is not too bad for Tigers considering their paper-thin squad which also lacks experience.

Peter Cholopi, who offers versatility from defence to midfield, should lead Tigers knowing that William Thole is reliable in goals whereas Martin Chongwe and Clifford Kankhuni are the bouncers to keep the back-door water tight.

Masters suffered their second loss of the campaign at the hands of Blue Eagles last weekend, so Coach, Benjamin Kumwenda, should be looking for the form that saw them win back-to-back games.

Masters are placed sixth on the log table with six points from four games, whereas Tigers occupy seventh slot having played three games to amass four points.

In other games scheduled for today, Chitipa United will be looking for their first win of the season when welcoming defending champions Kamuzu Barracks, Dwangwa United host Moyale Barracks whereas Wizards entertain Eagles.
