Babatunde Adepoju cautious in Top 8 golden boot race

Nyasa Big Bullets lanky forward Babatunde Adepoju is keeping a level head about his chances of winning this year’s Airtel Top 8 Cup golden boot award, where he is leading the scorers chart with four goals.

Adepoju said he was looking forward to the forthcoming semifinal against his former side Mighty Wanderers.

“I am not holding back any joy today. I am happy that we are in semifinals because it was tough playing away from home. I will be glad if we continue with this performance during our next encounter. My target is to score more goals in this competition,” said Adepoju.

Interestingly, Adepoju was celebrating his birthday on Sunday, which he duly celebrated with Bullets fans following his brace.

The Nigerian has scored a brace in both first and second legs of the Airtel Top 8 Cup.

On Sunday, he scored a brace when Bullets came from behind to snatch a 2-1 win over Mafco. He also scored two goals when Bullets defeated the Salima based soldiers 3-1.
