Some of the TNM Super League teams have started their 2020/21 season preparations with contrasting fortunes.

Reigning champions Nyasa Big Bullets will start training in Mangochi District where they are camping in preparation for the forthcoming season

Bullets Chief Administration Officer Albert Chigoga said the squad including all players and technical officials will camp in Mangochi to enhance their chances of defending the league and winning some cups.

“We will be camping in Mangochi until the season kicks off next month. The players have been idle for about seven months. We want them to be together so that they can be blend to defend the title,” he said.

Bullets assistant Coach Peter Mponda said this will help the players to gain match fitness quickly.

Meanwhile, two Be Forward Wanderers players and two technical members have tested positive for Covid-19.

Wanderers released a statement Monday indicating that defender Francis Mulimbika and attacker Misheck Botomani tested positive for the virus.

The statement also revealed that assistant Coach Albert Mpinganjira and team manager Foster Namwera were also positive.

Wanderers General Secretary Victor Maunde said the quartet was self-isolating and will return to training upon clearance from health authorities.

“The health of our players and officials is our priority. We are following health advice to protect lives,” he said.

In a related development, all Mighty Tigers players and officials tested negative for Covid-19.

The Kau-Kau Boys Media Officer Victor Singano confirmed the development saying the club will start training today.
