Moyale Barracks FC wrapped up the 2015 TNM Super League first round with a narrow 1-0 victory over visitors Civo United on Sunday at the Mzuzu Stadium

The soldiers were winners, thanks to a late goal from Khuda Myaba who scored in the 80th minute after receiving a pass from Deus Nkutu.

Charles Chilembo, Nelson Kangunje fought hard for Civo to grab an equalizer but Moyale defence marshalled by captain Lovemore Mitengo, Ntopijo Njewa and others, was rock solid.

Moyale goalie Juma Chikwenga was also in top form.

The win by Moyale means they have finished their first round fixtures on 19 points.

Civo’s defeat comes barely a day after they beat Mzuni FC at same venue last Saturday also by a goal to nil.

They have one match to finish the first round but have 15 points from 13 matches.

In an interview, Civo coach, Oscar Kaunda, had no kind words for referee Misheck Juba, claiming he was biased towards the Mzuzu soldiers.

But Moyale coach, Nicholas Mhango, dismissed this.

Mhango praised God for favouring them saying they started the league badly but ended well.
