Bankers meet Friday to assess coaches
By Williams Gondwa:
The future of Silver Strikers Lovemore Fazili-led coaching panel will be known on Friday, General Secretary Lawrence Yobe confirmed Wednesday.
“At the start of the 2018 season, we signed a contract with them and there were some targets, so we really need to sit down and see how far they went to meet the targets,” Yobe said.

He said they need to sign three players in order to accomplish their targets for next season.
“In 2018, we did not do well. Towards the end of the season, the squad was good but we finished without any trophy. So, we would like to analyse areas we need to improve in,” Yobe said.
Silver finished the 2018 season empty-handed despite signing stars such as Mphatso Phillimoni, Jack Chiona, Newman Mwamsamale and Khuda Muyaba.
Unconfirmed reports have linked former Malawi under-20 coach Gerald Phiri Senior and Elia Kananji to the job at Silver to replace Fazili.
Phiri and Kananji said they were not aware of reports linking them to Silver.
Meanwhile, the 2017 Airtel Top 8 champions have hinted that they might sign three players.
Silver—the league second highest eight-time winners— finished third on the log table of the 2018 Super League with 57 points from 30 games.
The Bankers lost to eventual winners Blue Eagles in the Airtel Top 8 semi-final and missed out on Carlsberg and Fisd Challenge cups.
