Boaz’s books are simple and easy to read and according to him, his target is pupils from standard one to seven.

In My Favourite Animals, Boaz writes about different animals such as Cat known as Mphaka in Chichewa.

He writes Meow!Meow! My name is Mphaka the cat, I eat animal meat, I enjoy living in the home, I am friendly and active.

In When I wake Up, Boaz tells the story of Kondwani highlighting what he does when he wakes up.

Every day when he wakes up, Kondwani kneels down and prays, stretches his body to keep fit, prepares his bed and then gets into several activities including sweeping the surrounding before going to school.

“When I Wake Up and The Lazy Hyena have come out this year while My Favourite Animals came out last year. I have a passion for writing and looking at the challenges I went through where we didn’t have adequate books in schools I thought I should play a part,” Boaz said.

Boaz said he started the project in 2016.

“My target was to produce five books within a short period and I am happy that by now three books are out. But by the end of this year, two more should be out – Chawa and Chiwa and Bososo and the king’s daughter,” he said.

Boaz hailed Montfort Media for assisting him in printing and publishing the books.

“The books are on the market and I am happy with the response so far. All I can say is that as Malawians let us read and encourage children to read,” he said.

He also called on writers to come out and write.

“Of course with technology, people are not reading but to the other side, there are not enough books so we need to write so as to have enough. Writers should also write stories that are relevant, educative and informative,” Boaz said.

In the three books, Boaz has demonstrated that he has potential and has done well in publishing books for children, who are neglected.

National Library Service (NLS) has also been in the forefront publishing books for children known as Werengani Series.
