Germany’s World Cup winner and Bayern Munich defender, Mats Hummels, has arrived in the country, courtesy of United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (Unicef).
Details about Hummels’ actual engagements remain sketchy but he is expected to be involved in some charity work.
The centre-back is expected to visit a community based Child Care Centre in Lilongwe on Wednesday.
Hummels, a product of Munich Academy, signed his professional contract in 2006 before joining Borussia Dortmund until last season when he reunited with the champions.
The 28-year-old is one of the influential Munich defenders alongside Jerome Boateng.
