Be Forward Wanderers’ exco to decide on coaches

Carlsberg Cup and Fisd Challenge Cup kings, Be Forward Wanderers have disclosed that the fate of their coaches will be part of the agenda during Saturday’s meeting at Wanderers Club House in Blantyre.

Nomads hired veteran Coach, Yasin Osman and his deputy Bob Mpinganjira on temporarily basis after parting ways with Eddingtone Ng’onamo and Elia Kananji in the middle of the season.

Osman and Mpinganjira delivered the Fisd Cup, and recently won the Bus Ipite Bonanza after beating arch-rivals, Nyasa Big Bullets 5-1 on aggregate.

Wanderers General Secretary, Mike Butao, yesterday confirmed that Osman and Mpinganjira’s contracts expired at the end of the season alongside that of Technical Director Jack Chamangwana.

But Butao said they will review the performance of the team and coaches during the meeting.

“The executive will make a decision on the coaches soon so that they can start preparing for next season. I do not want to pre-empt the decision, but we will announce once we conclude the review process,” Butao said.

Under Osman and Mpinganjira, Wanderers were ruthless in front of goal, scoring nine goals in the last four games.

However, Osman yesterday said he was not comfortable commenting on the contract issue.

Wanderers assembled one of the best squads in local football, but struggled to replicate their cup form in the TNM Super League.

They last won the league title in 2006 under the tutelage of Zimbabwean Rahman Gumbo.
