Be Forward Wanderers have described their just-ended BFW SMS promotion as a success because it achieved its objective.
Wanderers secretary, Mike Butao, was responding to a questionnaire on how much the promotion has raised after running from June 26 to September 30 2015.
“We are yet to reconcile with our aggregator who is compiling information from the promotion. However, we received over 80,000 entries, which are quite impressive compared to the last promotion,” he said.
Butao said while last season’s promotion was aimed at fund-raising the latest initiative was designed to promote the brand of the team’s sponsor, Be Forward Limited.
“Last season we had no sponsor, but this season we have a sponsor. It was imperative to sensitise the nation about our sponsor and the services they can get from Be Forward,” he said.
Butao said Wanderers executive committee, with support from Be Forward, would soon unveil a new project.
Meanwhile, during the grand draw, a Roman Catholic Church priest, Father Paul Rapozzo, emerged the winner of the grand prize of a Toyota Vits vehicle in the SMS promotion.
Coincidentally, Father Rapozzo, who overseers Nsanama Parish in Machinga, won a prize of K200,000 two months ago in the same competition. Rapozzo sent 125 text messages with each costing K50 and it was sent to ‘BFW 1010’.
