MASTER-TURNED-NOMAD— Atsigah

TNM Super League leaders Be Forward Wanderers have unveiled Masters Security’s Ghanaian defender Eric Atsigah after signing him on a three-year deal on Thursday.

However, a wrangle is set to ensue over the West African after Masters Security claimed that they had sold the player to Silver Strikers.

Masters owner, Alfred Gangata, said a deal had been sealed with Silver and he had pocketed K4 million for the player.

“What I know is that Atsigah was a Masters player and we sold him to Silver. Silver paid us and we agreed that they will give us two players as part of the deal. So I am surprised that Wanderers unveiled him as their player,” Gangata said.

But Silver Chairperson Peter Chando, while confirming interest in the player, said they did not pay any money to Masters.

“We cannot pay before finalising the deal. That is not true,” Chando said. Gangata claimed that the player had a two year contract with his club.

Wanderers announced the signing on their official Facebook page: “Atsigah is from Ghana. He will bring quality, professionalism and leadership.

He is a top quality addition to the team as we strive to win the league for the second time in three years.”

Atsigah said he was delighted to have completed the move.

“It feels good to be at Wanderers who have high quality players. I am delighted to join this big club which has top players,” Atsigah was quoted as saying on the Nomads’ Facebook page.

Atsigah was one of the most sought-after players in the just ended transfer window with Silver also courting him.

The Nomads also announced the signing of upcoming striker China Chirwa from TN Stars at an undisclosed fee.
