Beach soccer squad eye winning start

Malawi national beach soccer team is hoping for a winning start when clashing with Burundi in 2019 Copa Dar es Salaam at Coco Beach in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, today.
The team’s Coach, Stereo Gondwe, said they were catching up following their late arrival.
“Everything is okay and though we arrived late, the boys had time to rest. We had time to have a feel of the pitch and morale is high in the camp, we are just waiting for the first game tomorrow [Monday] which we believe we will perform to the best of our capabilities,” he said after a loosening up training session yesterday.

After squaring with Burundi in their opener, Malawi will face Seychelles tomorrow.
Malawi will then face the hosts, Tanzania, and Uganda on a date to be announced by the hosts, Tanzania Football Federation.
The 2019 Copa Dar es Salaam Beach Soccer tournament kicks-off today and ends on Thursday- Christmas Box.
Five countries namely Burundi, Seychelles, Uganda, Malawi and hosts, Tanzania, are taking part in this year’s tournament.—Additional reporting by Fam Media
