Gospel musician Ben Mahatchi is set to launch his latest album Ndinu Mulungu at Ndirande SDA Church grounds in Blantyre this Sunday.
The musician, who is known for his soul-soothing voice, said yesterday that people will sample his music at the launch free of charge.
“It is a free-of-charge launch and everything is set for the launch, which will take place at Ndirande SDA Church grounds, opposite St Andrews International Schools, in Ndirande, Blantyre.
“I have decided to make the launch a free-of-charge event because I want people to come in large numbers and enjoy the gospel. People should come in their numbers because I am ready for a great performance,” Mahatchi said.
The album, recorded by Robert Nello at Balaka Pro Sounds Studio, has songs such as ‘Mpulumutsi Wozizwitsa’, ‘Nthawi’ and ‘Yesu Bwenzi Lokoma’.
Mahatchi features Moring Bells Choir on backing vocals and will be supported by Davie Chiwaya, Balaka Adventist Police Choir, Florence Maseya, Goma Family, Spiritual brothers, Jones Maunjiri, among others.
The musician, who focuses on the gospel of Jesus Christ in his lyrics, said: “I also want my message to reach out to the sick, and encourage those who are downtrodden”.
