Ben Mankhamba, Skeffa Chimoto face off at Pakwathu


Veteran musician Ben Michael Mankhamba said Thursday that he is a freelance artist, who is ready to perform with any band in the country.
Mankhamba, who is back with live performances having been inactive, is this weekend scheduled to hold two shows including at his den Chingalire Cultural Centre.
The singer and guitarist will perform at a new place – Pakwathu Entertainment Hub in Lilongwe—Saturday when he will come face to face with Skeffa Chimoto and Real Sounds Band.
Pakwathu Entertainment Hub is a new place that is being driven by Music Crossroads Malawi.
“I am happy to perform at the launch of this new place and to share the stage with Skeffa Chimoto,” he said.
He said his performance has also come at the right time to dispel fake news that flooded social media that “I am dead”.
“People should come and see me at Pakwathu. I also want to say it here that band are free to perform with me; they can rehearse my songs. I am in support of every band and even gospel. I have gospel songs,” Mankhamba said.
Skeffa will be performing at Pakwathu, having performed at Sand Music and Love Malawi festivals in Mangochi and Blantyre, respectively.
Music Crossroads Malawi Director Mathews Mfune said Pakwathu Entertainment Hub is there to offer the much needed entertainment to people.
The venue will today feature a performance from Smooth Groovers Band.
