Big Bullets back from Tanzania with hope
By Mphatso Malidadi:
Nyasa Big Bullets are expected to return from Tanzania today after holding Simba and JKU to goalless draws during friendlies in preparation for Caf Champions League matches.
Bullets first played against JKU of Zanzibar on Thursday before settling for another barren draw against Tanzania mainland’s Simba on Friday.
Chief Executive Officer for the People’s Team, Fleetwood Haiya, described the trip as a success and hailed the team’s board for sanctioning international friendlies ahead of the team’s encounter with Gor Mahia of Kenya on November 27.
Haiya said the coaching panel was also pleased with the defensive organisation of the team, having kept clean sheets in the two games.
“We thank the board for allowing us to travel outside the country for the friendlies. The games were crucial in our preparations for action in Africa. Not conceding a goal in both games is a good result. It has been a successful trip,” he said.

Haiya said the two friendlies are the last as the team prepares to face the Kenyan giants in the first leg match.
The People’s Team tuned up for continental action without six players who were with the Malawi senior and under-23 national football teams.
The six are captain John Lanjesi, Yamikani Fodya, Patrick Phiri, Chiukepo Msowoya, Mike Mkwate and Rabson Chiyenda
